The National Archives
The National Archives holds records covering over one thousand years of history from the time of William the Conqueror to the present day. There are approximately 10 million documents stored here created by central government departments. Increasingly, these records are being put online, making them even more accessible.

London Fire Brigade Museum
Located in Southwark at the original headquarters of the London Fire Brigade, this unique museum presents a wealth of information relating to the history and development of firefighting in London. Starting from the Great Fire of London, the collection spans the Victorian period, World War II and growth into the modern London Fire Brigade. Items on display include paintings, firefighting equipment and uniforms, as well as several historic fire appliances housed in a Victorian fire station.
